App researcher Alessandro Paluzzi shared the image below on Twitter, along with the text: LinkedIn is working on audio rooms, the feature is not available yet, only the user interface is available at the moment.

As can be seen from the picture above, in the user's personal interface, users can choose to join or leave the conference room, react to comments and request to speak.

Later, LinkedIn confirmed that it was indeed testing a social audio experience in its app, sharing a conceptual UX prototype of its own audio room experience with TechCrunch that showed an example of what the feature would look like at launch ↓

It can be found that the LinkedIn Audio Room interface is similar in style to Clubhouse, with function boxes for speakers at the top, and then a list of those discussing below.

According to LinkedIn, LinkedIn is doing some early tests to create unique audio experiences related to users’ professional identities. This is also what makes LinkedIn special. The audio experience will be tied to the user’s professional identity, which means professional-based meeting rooms can be aligned with specific market segments to improve connections and build the user’s industry influence.

LinkedIn said it developed the audio-based networking feature because its members and creatives are always looking for more ways to communicate on its platform. Currently, LinkedIn does not have an exact timetable for launching the audio networking feature, but said it will begin beta testing soon.

In addition to LinkedIn, streaming music giant Spotify is also advancing related work. Just two days ago, Spotify announced that it would acquire Betty Labs, the developer of the live sports audio application Locker Room.

According to Spotify, the acquisition builds on work to create "the audio format of the future" and will accelerate Spotify's entry into the live audio space.

"Creators and supporters have been asking for the live streaming format on Spotify, and we're excited to make it available to hundreds of millions of listeners and creators on the platform soon," said Gustav Söderström, Chief Research and Development Officer.

Over the coming months, Spotify will evolve Locker Room, expanding it into a broader, enhanced live audio experience. Through this new live experience, Spotify will offer sports, music and cultural programming, as well as a range of interactive features that allow creators to connect with their audiences in real time.

Previously, there was also news that Facebook was developing an audio-only chat room. Major social platforms have entered the market one after another, and audio social networking may give rise to new development opportunities. Sellers can also pay more attention to it.
