Enter Latin America! Pinterest Launches Advertising Business In Brazil

Recently, Pinterest launched Pinterest advertising business in Brazil, providing new marketing opportunities for sellers.

According to foreign media reports, Pinterest recently launched its advertising business in Brazil, and Brazilian brands can now launch paid promotions through Pinterest.

The launch of the advertising business also provides new opportunities for brands looking to enter new markets, allowing small and medium-sized enterprises to promote their products to new audiences.

As Pinterest says: "46 million Brazilians have long relied on Pinterest for shopping inspiration and product discovery. Starting now, marketers in Brazil can use Pinterest Ads to better reach this highly engaged audience."

Currently, Pinterest has achieved significant development in the international market. In 2020, Pinterest's international revenue reached US$123 million, a year-on-year increase of 145%. And, the platform’s active audience outside the U.S. grew 46% year-over-year throughout 2020.

Additionally, data from Statista shows that throughout 2020, Facebook accounted for more than half (56.13%) of all visits to social media sites in Brazil, followed by Pinterest at approximately 14.79%. As the second most used social platform in the Brazilian market, Pinterest may bring a range of new marketing opportunities to sellers.

Additionally, Pinterest provides some other statistics about Brazilian users’ use of Pinterest.

The expansion of Pinterest Ads in Brazil will provide Pinterest with additional opportunities to grow revenue, and the platform will add more advertising and promotional tools at a steady pace. For example, it's adding more brands to its AR Try-On program and offering skin tone search qualifiers in more regions outside the United States.

The expansion of Pinterest advertising into Brazil is the platform’s first rollout into Latin America, with more countries to follow.

Pinterest advertising may expand to Mexico later this year, followed by Argentina, Colombia and Chile, according to Jon Kaplan, Pinterest’s director of Internet advertising and technology.
