TikTok is ending its $2 billion creator rewards program

According to news, TikTok plans to terminate its creator reward programs in the United States, United Kingdom, France and Germany on December 16.

Launched in 2020, the reward program is valued at US$2 billion and aims to provide a source of income for short video creators.

Recently, Fortune magazine reported that TikTok decided to completely cancel the plan.

Earlier, TikTok launched a modified creator reward program pilot project – Creativity Program (Creativity Program) in February this year, with the purpose of opening up a wider range of profit avenues for creators and increasing their income. Since then, industry insiders have predicted that the original author reward program may be abolished once the creative program is operating stably.

Qualified creators who participate in the creative program and publish more than one minute of high-quality original content may have revenue potential that is 20 times that of the original author reward program.

Once a creator chooses to join the Creative Program, they cannot return to the Original Author Rewards Program.
